I've watched plenty of races on cycling.tv and haven't had to pay a
dime yet, so yes- it's worth it. I'd definitely pay money to use it if
it goes that way! If you use Internet Explorer, and have high-speed
connectivity, you'll find excellent quality video streaming. In most
races, the commentary is very good, as is the camera work.
The coverage of the women's world cup at Geelong was top rate - and it
was good to see that Anna Wilson is still involved in the sport - she
provided great commentary without cheesiness or cliche. It's the first
time I've ever seen an overhead shot of a women's sprint finish, and I
learned how to pronounce "Geelong".

It is going 'pay.' Today, you could get at the paid
rate 391 bps versus 245 bps. I'm not excited about
live racing at 391 bps. 700 bps would have been a
big difference. Sean Kelly? is giving interesting
commentary, tho.

I've seen that too on the championship race. They're
promising to show the Tour of California next year, and
I'm wondering if they would. They probably can't show
the program in the country of origin if the race is
occurring the country with terrestial broadcast.

Oh my, race fans, that poor Jovian is having a rough time on the
switchbacks up Mons Olympus. But don't count him out yet, his bowling
ball profile and tremendous mass will certainly help on the downhill
portion.

From other information I have received this will NOT include the Giro and
possibly not the Tour and the Vuelta. Possibly separate subscriptions???

Since I am most interested in the three Tours I may wait to subscribe to
them and watch the free content that is delayed...

I want full coverage of the big tours, too. I could get up to 1800k/s
if they had the content. I have been getting 798k for the regular
content and 391k/s for the live feeds. I would like a better rate.

The cost is about 35 USD.

I was a registered user last year when they were charging $10 pay per
view for each live event. I did not purchase any pay per views.
Cycling.tv shot out e-mails to us registered users early this year and
asked if we would be interested in a $35 rate for a one year
subscription and it is clear what the response was. I am only getting
265 rate but waching the early Belgian races is great. I enjoy
watching events that I could only read about in Velo News and still not
see on US tv. I have not had any feed retrictions outside of my own
connection issues. I felt this is a great way to get live sporting
coverage from Europe irregardless any grand tour coverage and work
around the large media conglomerates.

It is going to be an additional $20 for daily Giro coverage.
I might do something like this for the TdF but I am going to
pass on the Giro. I can't simply shell out for every thing.
I don't know if they know what the typical american
cable bill already is.

Whatever it is, I don't see where it would or should have much to do
with their pricing. There are a lot of average cable users in the U.S.
that drop $ 39.95 for pro wrestling events on a regular basis. And
then they have that huge Bud bill as well, even with the case and keg
discounts...

I can't get cycling on OLN because it would be $120/month
for service which includes it. I will not pay for a cable
bill that is $50 month. You will probably be suprised in
how many people actually pay big dollars for cable and how
few pay for PPV, which is why the PPV fees have risen.
