Well, some [1] professional footie players do spend a lot of their time
off playing golf - maybe that's the kind of "driving" they're getting
at? ;-)

Not a few get involved in unsavoury driving, which can put them in prison
and injure them. Given that professional footballers are basically chattels,
I reckon it'd be fine for managers to forbid them to drive.

What a complete [censored]. In re: one of his exploits, it severely curtailed my
off road cycling this winter. Well, not him exactly, but coming across (NPI)
some people engaging in sex in cars on Cannock Chase (which is one of his
disgraceful things) really put me off riding there.

Would this be the practice colloquially known as dogging?

Yes. Stan Collymore was caught doing it on Cannock Chase.
Amusingly, one of the humour columnists in a local newspaper recorded his
fictional exploits in spamming the dogging websites with adverts for his
home made jam, farm fresh vegetables, and other countryside trinkets that
are sold in green belt land. It was quite amusing.
