Liam Killeen looked as he was giggling his head off during the last 2-3 laps. Is he just a happy chap or was there a on-field joke doing the rounds?

Towards the end of the Men's we were near a marshal point where they were counting off each rider as they passed. They also yelled out the rider's name and asked "give us a smile" as they laboured up the switchbacks. Most were pretty stony faced by then, but a few managed to crack a grin.
From there we saw Chris get hauled in. He said on cyclingnews he might have gone out too hard early on because the crowds were cheering him on so much. Maybe we should have been quieter or advised him to ease up.

We had a great day out there. Train and bus with only a few minutes wait at connections. If only PT was like that all the time.

Very well organised. Could get access to just about anywhere on the course. The setting is superb, a great showcase for the MTB riding in Aus and Melbourne.

Thank you to all the M2006 Volunteers who volunteered at MTB & the Road Races. The M2006 Games would not have been the same without each and everyone one of you. You were all a critical part of the running of our events.
I thank you all for helping me put all that planning to work.
