So, I'm out on the bike, cycling down a country lane, minding my own
business...
I'm on the last few kms before I reach home [1], the wind is behind me
and I'm doing just over 30km/h... and I spot a cat crouched in the
verge.
Usually, when they do this, it's just out of worry over the strange
thing on wheels, so I didn't take much notice - until I was about a
metre away.
It launched itself at me (or bike), in a curve of pursuit trajectory,
with claws flailing... Fortunately, it had completely mistimed the
attack and I went on by completely untouched and slightly amused. Well,
OK, I was laughing my head off. I was going to go back to say hello,
but I thought I'd gotten away with it once, maybe the next time I
wouldn't be so lucky 😉
[1] Did 104kms, 100km went past at 27.1km/h average and 3hrs 41mins.
Still not fully fit but this was my first 100k of the year.
Yes, I've been lazy.
