  1. For MSR, Barloworld and Discovery have not entered a single South
    African and American rider respectively.

(Of course the French and Italian teams have entered pretty much
nothing but French and Italian riders.) All other teams have at least
one "national" rider (CSC only has 1 mind you, but at least they have 1)

I don't think any of the SA Barloworld riders are all that suited to MSR
(the SA rider probably most suited to MSR rides for Phonak). I think they
had hoped to be a wildcard in the giro where someone like Ryan Cox might
have done well but with only 2 wildcards they probably never had much
    chance against Italian only teams.

And for the ToC, every team supported its American, or at least English speaking
rider. There haven't been that many English speakers in the top ten outside of
    some British club time trial.

I think they're taking this whole concept of promoting the sponsor pretty
    seriously.

CSC: do you mean a Dane or an American?

Canada: free of such vexing issues since forever.

"National" riders: Thus a Dane (in the case of CSC)
