I have the good fortune to be watching and recording the PIAA (Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Assn) championships, both AA and AAA, which are taking place in State College. These are essentially the state high school championships.
PCN, pcntv.compcntv.comOpen ↗, is broadcasting about twelve hours of swimming and replaying each three hour segment twice. Good for them. There isn't any underwater footage, but it is very comprehensive, commercial-free coverage with the occasional close-up replay.
I notice that about half the boys still wear briefs while the rest are split between thigh-length jammers and full-leg tights. I don't see any boys with upper-body suits. A good percentage of the boys have shaved their heads.
