race.
I likely will enter the 100 IM.
As far as my other post, if you realy knew me, you would know that I
would only stop if there was no water on this earth.
My post was mearly to point out that being respectful to everyones
abilities is the most important thing.
Very few people got that. To those that did, I would gladly listen to
you, as you realize we are all different.

PS: from now on, I will only post progress, and not ask for advice, as
I see it is a futile effort.
Swim or don't, whatever makes you happy.
Most of us here (even the lurkers) would rather have surgey without
anesthesia than give up swimming for a prolonged time.
I admit your "point" went completely over my head; as do your progress
report postings. Seems like you should be using a blog (or diary) to
chart and document your progress -- not usenet.
You see the inherent thing about usenet is that it is a 2-way medium;
and many times there will be at least 1 person trying to ruin it for the
others. Typos, mispellings aside from my lurking over the last few
months (that is with little to contribute and therefore NOT posting), I
would say that trouble maker is you.
Talk to people at the pool.
Work with a coach.
Read books, read websites.
You will gain the most knowledge and skill by searching out answers to
your questions instead of leaning on this newsgroup as a support --
especially since there have been relatively few applicable and valuable
answers to your numerous questions.
I am not saying "go away", as I have no authority (or desire) to tell
anyone what to do. Flame me if you must (the way of usenet), but either
way I wish you luck in your endeavor in Ottowa. Personally, I would be
interested in what you think you 100IM time would be at this point, and
then a followup after the race with a diagnosis of how you trained and
your feelings on YOUR performance.
For those intersted in my progress, I am still working on my distance
swimming and plan to do several multi-mile events this season. I am
reguarly swimming between 1.5 and 3.5 miles a day 5x week. I am hovering
at 26 minute miles (72 x 25yd lengths) with medium effort. I just
realized last week that I had let my form slip and am working on my
technique again before trying to go faster.
Since getting serious and charting my progress for distance swimming, I
have just passed my 400 mile marker (started counting Sept. 9 2004) and
am on track to exceed the 300 miles per year I completed last year; on
top of this I am beginning to add back in some bike workouts and
hopefully will return to the triathlon realm this summer.
