Can knuckle push-ups be harmful to your knuckles? I agree you will have some scars, but anything beyond that?
I am not a specialist, but I think that this type of push-up makes your wrists stable, thus decreasing the possibility of an injury. Moreover, your body is going to be a bit higher, so you are going to exercise through a wider range of motion.

How are you going to scar your knuckles doing pushups? Are you doing your pushups on gravel or broken glass? You should be able to do them on the front two knuckles on a wooden floor with no ill effects.

Please describe knuckle push-ups. I realize that you rest your weight only on two knuckles (index and middle fingers) of each fist. I just tried doing these on a rubber mat and found that I was really doing them on the full surfaces of my fists. I think my wrist strength is OK so I want to know if there any technique tips I need to keep in mind

I do mine on two hot plates, turned on high of course. This also adds extra height for greater ROM.
