My mom is looking for some smoothie recipes without bananas. Can

    Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie

    1 pt. fresh strawberries

    4 ice cubes

Trim the strawberries, discarding the stems, and rinse
quickly until running cold water. Combine all ingredients in a
blender and blend until a thick smoothie forms. Makes about 2
    cups.

    Apple-Berry Smoothie

    1 cup ice
    2 oz. strawberries, chopped
    1 oz. plain low-fat yogurt
    2 oz. apple juice
    2 oz. blueberry nectar
    2 oz. cranapple juice

Blend each drink until smooth in blender and garnish
    with fresh fruit.

    Citrus Surprise Smoothie

    1 cup ice
    juice of 1/2 lime
    1 oz. plain low-fat yogurt
    2 1/2 oz. orange juice
    2 1/2 oz. pineapple juice
    2 1/2 oz. grapefruit juice

Blend each drink until smooth in blender and garnish
    with fresh fruit.

    Pineapple-Orange Smoothie

    1/3 cup nonfat dry milk
    1/4 cup water
    1/2 cup orange juice
    1/2 cup canned crushed
    pineapple (unsweetened)
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    sweetener equivalent to 4 tsp.
    sugar
    5 to 6 ice cubes

In blender container, combine all ingredients except ice
cubes. Blend until smooth, adding ice cubes one at a time
while blending. Pour into 2 glasses. Makes 2 servings.
Each serving provides: 1 fruit exchange and 1/2 milk
    exchange.

    Chocolate-Mint Smoothie

    2 cup milk
    1/4 cup instant cocoa mix
    1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
    1 pt. vanilla ice cream

Heat 1/2 cup milk just until hot. Combine hot milk and
cocoa mix in container of an electric blender. Process until
smooth. Add remaining 1/2 cups milk and flavorings; blend
well. Add ice cream and process until smooth. Yield: 4 cups.

    Custard Cream Smoothie

    3 eggs
    1/4 cup sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 cup milk
    1/2 tsp. vanilla or almond
    flavoring
    1 cup cream

Beat eggs slightly. Stir in sugar and salt. Add milk
and cream. Cook in double boiler, stirring constantly, until
mixture coats a spoon. Remove from heat. Add vanilla; chill.
Just before serving, beat well with a rotary beater. If
desired, top with whipped cream and garnish with berries in
season. As a special treat, stir in 1/2 pint vanilla or coffee
ice cream just before serving. Makes 6 servings.
