Reynier put Martin's test to the claim and consumed three spoonfuls.

Bruichladdich, a small privately owned distillery founded in 1881,
plans to make about 5,000 bottles of the whisky, which Reynier
estimated would sell for about 400 pounds (US$695, euro590) per case of
12 bottles. Although whisky lovers can place their orders now, the
actual spirit will not be delivered for about 10 years.

"You get a better drink if you wait because of the basic oxygenation
through the oak barrels," Reynier said.

I recently found some 190 proof gin at my liquor store and i almost bought
it to give a better flame to my Bannanas Foster, but on the back was a
warning label in big letters warning not to use it in cooking or flambe
dishes. I did not get it. The fresh bottle of Meyers did the trick since
my old bottle had lost its umph.

that seems the same as the Pharmco stuff i mentioned which has what, 6
different types or levels of 200 proof, including USP and kosher. What
the difference between yours above and USP I cannot fathom except what?
less bacteria? not much can grow in 200 proof. i wonder what is the
difference between 100% reagant and 100% USP, not the same?

why is 200 proof regulated so much and 192 proof is not? something very
unusual about 200 proof? 190 proof can be purchased off the shelf in
some states.

Texas stores sell Everclear 190, as well as a generic brand, "Clear
Springs".

There's your clue. There's probably a formula for one or more kinds of
explosives that requires pure ethanol; the stuff with water won't do.

There's your clue. There's probably a formula for one or more kinds of
explosives that requires pure ethanol; the stuff with water won't do.

The "A" in "BATF" stands for alcohol. There is a huge federal tax on
distilled spirits. The BATF is responsible for making sure it gets
paid.

The tax only applies to alcohol for drinking. If you are buying lab
alcohol, you don't have to pay the tax. The BATF has stringent rules
about purchase and record-keeping.
