The two squares in the black granite back splash are where the accent tiles
are going to be once I make a decision on them! Right now, it looks a little
    odd.

Kimberly, what a great workable kitchen! Looks like you've got just about
everything you could possibly need, and plenty of room. What are your wall
ovens? They look very familiar to me, but I can't remember from where.

Thanks for those pix! It looks like you're updating a kitchen about
the same age as mine. I replaced a nutone hood that looked almost
exactly like yours except mine was copper colored. Wee finally found
a hood we could use w/o completely reconfiguring or replacing our
    cabinets. http://www.ventahood.com/hoodmodels.jsp?id=2

Maybe a pair of pink flamingos... after an hour at your neato kitchen
bar I'd be lusting after a pair of pink ladys. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Very nice! Check out those ovens. And your display
makes even me want to eat fruit.

Thanks! It was one of the things I loved about the house..the size of the
    kitchen I mean.
The ovens are Thermador. Original from when the house was built, but
    working.

Rofl! We eat alot of fruit around here, especially since I stopped buying
processed snacks. Amazing how the kids will scarf the fruits and veggies
down when there's no chips to be found!

    Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚

    LOL!
I was leaning more towards either two pewter tiles with fruit, or two stone
tiles with wine labels. Or possibly the copper tiles with veggies. I don't
    know!

The house actually has an (alcohol) bar too, with a sink and everything ๐Ÿ˜‰

    thanks!

    Thanks for the link!
The kitchen hadn't been changed at all since the house was built in '57. We
replaced the cooktop (I loved it, but only one burner out of 4 worked, and
the griddle didn't work either), and the refrigerator, and added the island.
The cabinets above the microwave open from both sides, as do the drawers,
but the previous owner put in that wall behind there and turned the dining
    room into an office.

Ah, okay. Those older Thermadors just don't seem to break. Friends of
mine had similar and I remember they were definitely Thermador.

Another nice kitchen... I would LOVE one of those island thingys - but
although my kitchen is long, it's just too narrow. Dammit.

That is exactly what I want to do with my kitchen. Did you buy the island
or make it? Currently I am using a cupboard that I took out of the L spaced
extension. I dont think it would be hard to put a butcher block on it .
Let me rephrase. I don't think it would be hard for one of my friends to
put a butcher top on it!

My husband put it in while I was in Minnesota, and it was purchased. It has
drawers on 2 sides, which is marvelous because I was always running out of
room for odd shaped pans and utensils! My sister in law is always saying she
doesn't know how I could have no room for anything, but believe me when I
    say: It can happen! lol
