  1. Is anyone fond of this cheese? I bought some to add some flavor to my
otherwise fat-free salad dressing, but found the flavor very unappealing.
I've eaten many different types of blue cheese, but this one thoroughly put
me off. I expected to like it, since I do like Athenos Feta. Just
    wondering...

I just don't like their cheese at all. I don't like buying already crumbled
or shredded cheese. I like little wedges of blue cheese where I can pick
out one that has a lot of blue stuff. I keep thinking how easy it is to get
little moldy spots on whole hunks of cheese and I wonder what I can't see in
all those crumbles and shreds. I like Crystal Cave for blue cheese. In the
old days we used to stop at a local dairy/cheese house on a country road in
Wisconsin and buy a whole wheel of the stuff. I'd freeze some and the rest
would go to blue cheese sandwiches on dark rye bread or salad dressings or
just tossed into a salad. It was so creamy it was spreadable. Yum.

I like Crystal Cave, too, but it's sometimes had to find here. You can bet
that I don't buy any more Athenos! When I go shopping today I will pick up
something else, as I still want to add some to my salad dressing.

You might try Safeway own-label blue cheese, it's usually pretty good.

Thanks, Steve. I'll take a look.

What blue cheese did you finally get? Were you able to get Crystal Cave or
did you try the Safeway brand?

Actually, I never made it to the supermarket. I stopped at a Trader Joe's
for some other items and noticed their own brand which I had never tried
before. They had both wedges and crumbled. I bought both. It was worth a
    try; it's very tasty.

I'll have to trust you on that, no TJ here.

Oh, that's a shame. You're missing out on a lot of great products. As to
the blue cheese, if you like Crystal Cave, then I think you'd like TJ's
    brand.
