  1. Oh dear, has anyone noticed? Today is the last day of the cricket! That
will put a few relationships to the test (no pun intended).

Perhaps a romantic dinner for two at a sports bar?

We don't do Valentine's Day in this household, so it's not a problem

Oh, that took a couple of readings :-).
Seriously, I'd be very surprised if that one means anything to North Americans.

Huh, we don't do Valentine's Day AND we don't do cricket (nor rugby)! Even less
    of a problem.
Actually SHE came home from pottery nightclass grumpy, sat down in front of a
lovely meal, gobbled it up yet won't talk. Might's well have had cricket and
rugby and birthday and valentine's all at once <sigh>.

Well, *I* got the potential humor (even though she said that there was no
pun intended). Don't sell North Americans short: Many of us have read the
"Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" series, in which cricket plays a
    significant part. :-)

Yes BUT - you guys don't use the word 'test' for an international competition
match, do you?!? Left me totally confused when I first moved down here ...
