Like beef, we had it several times on a trip to Nepal. A yak is a domesticated wild cow so it figures. Since they don't feed them grain and the yak has to hustle to forage it's about as lean as buffalo is.

I haven't tried the yak before, but it's supposed to be like beef, but milder, whatever that means.
I like buffalo for ground meat, stewing meat, and anything that cooks long and slow. But since it's so lean, I'm not that crazy about the steaks.
When I consider the price, I try to weigh in the fact that I'm not draining off fat when I cook it, so the ground meat is actually a decent price.
Dust it with seasoned flour, deep-fry it, toss it in a mixture of Frank's hot sauce and melted margarine, and serve it with ranch dressing and celery sticks on the side.
