Snow in the Peaks?

Haven't been up there, but I can see from my house that it's all very
white. Freezing cold, too, even down here. If I was you I'd count on at
least a couple of inches of snow, very cold and probably windy. Upside -
the mud's probably frozen at the moment.

Take a hat and gloves - there are areas of the Pennine Way around Kinder
that are very windy and bitterly cold with the wind chill. If it can
snow down here then I imagine it will be very snowy up there. Make sure
you've got your map and compass, a GPS is a very useful backup, and
don't take a wrong turn at the Downfall or the 633m trig point! Start
early, you don't want to get left up there with the light fading.
Despite the freezing wind it's hard not to stop a few times and admire
the view. I was up there a few weeks ago, it was a crisp but
comfortable day down below but very icy and freezing cold, with driving
sleet stinging your face up on top.

There's not been a great deal of snow since the weekend but the
temperatures have stayed low. The weekends stuff will still be
there. We're still getting the occaisional random dump and I saw
a fairly big one over the Western hills while driving home. It's
about -5 tonight and anything that falls will probably still be
hanging around by the weekend.

It was snowing powder snow in Compstall this afternoon, and the hills
were white as mentioned elsewhere.

The temperature in my garden has dropped rapidly to minus 4.1C at 23:41.

I walked on Kinder last Saturday from Glossop.There was plenty of snow
on the top and it was a fairly clear day,However the wind was an
absolute killer.It was incredibly strong and icy cold.Even with good
clothing it cut straight through you.Make sure you are well equipped
and return before it gets dark.Good Luck.

Would also recommend taking map & compass & GPS as a backup
