From Haystacks the Helvellyn ridge looked plastered but that doesn't
necessarily mean there's a lot.
There was nowt much to speak of on Gable or Scafell Pike.

Looked a great day ..................... but lacking the white stuff.

There are snow flurries forecast for the week ahead, but mainly on the
Eastern/Pennine Fells. A bit of wishful thinking might bring snow a little
further west.

South Wales. Probably only on the hilltops though.

Aye, buggrit. I was planning to head north on Wednesday, taking the
youngerlings with me - but there's a limit to what I can inflict on a 5
year old and an 8 year old in February if I don't want to put them off
for life. For that matter I'm no great lover of freezing high speed
easterlies myself :-(

There was a slight sprinkling of snow lying on Fan Fawr and Fan Frynych
in the Brecon Beacons yesterday. Nowhere near enough to play in though,
and the clag meant I couldn't see it for more than about 20 yards in
front of my nose.

I'm sure about what I saw on Saturday.
This testcam is dated Mon 20th. It was raining on the M6 on Sunday evening
so maybe everything changed on Sunday night.

Still the same forecast for The Lakes, snow flurries and freezing at higher
levels. The down side is extensive cloud cover is forecast, and over the
eastern Fells, where all the snow is. Anyway, think I will zoom north early
Friday morning for 3 days walking. Photos will suffer, but the walking
should be good.

too early to tell of course.

The long range MWIS indicated that. Going to go anyway, don't mind walking
in a bit of hill fog if snow is underfoot.

And, having seen on the news this evening that a certain region in the
arctic is about 20deg C warmer than it should be for Feb, we might not see
any snow again in this country!

Anyone want to be some winter clothing? I'm off to the beach on Thirlmere

A few flakes of snow in Swansea today. It's turned to rain now, but that's
a reasonable indication that there'll be snow on the Beacons. How much?
Who knows? Didn't feel that cold to me.

2cm dump above 750ft this morning and still snowing. Snake
closed. Forecastng cold for the weekend so good chance it
will hang around long enough to play in.
