Anquet or Memory Map?

I'm not knocking the Memory-Map product but they seem a bit lax in other
departments. I ordered the IGN Pyrenees 1:25000 mid-November and I still
haven't received it.

There's almost no difference in the products. I'd suggest downloading a
demo from each (there's a new version of Anquet) and doing a bit of
experimentation. Check that you also get the latest version of MM as
earlier version had performance issues with many routes loaded.

I'm sure that Anquet do an "Educational" licence - maybe MM would if
you asked them?

And like the man said - don't discount Tracklogs.

We're very happy with Memory Map.

When we researched this we found the educational networking better with
MM ...... you can install on 35 PC's over a network.

Also there is a substantial discount (40% ???) available to DoE groups.
See MM's website for details.

If you like Harveys maps you might prefer Anquet.

I own FUGAWI, munro planning,mtb planning gps connction etc.

I own the whole of scotland, 2 maps.

I think tracklogs is cheapest for smaller areas eg nat parks or 1 1;25k map.

I've used both and found Anquet to be easier to use, didn't slow my PC
down like MM did, and whats more the new 06 versions are better value
for money!
I've not used Tracklogs so can't comment on it but in a choice between
Anquet and Memory Map I'd always go for Anquet.

I'm new to this group and wasn't aware of these digital maps - also a
little out of the walking scene at the moment anyway.

Having done a quick trawl through the websites for these products, what
is the trade off for Fugawi as I see that I can get the whole of the
Scottish mountain area for £40 whereas the other products require
several discs to cover this area at greater cost ?

Historically, the Fugawi elevation data was not as accurate as Anquet,
Memory Map or (I believe) Tracklogs. This may have now been resolved in
the later versions so it's worth checking what you're getting.

My advice (as always) it to get the demos of all 4 products and see how
you get on with them. There are significant usability differences and
you may well find that one just "clicks" with you.

Ive been using tractlogs for a couple of years after switching from memory
map and find it knocks spots off the rest.providing it is version 3
