Why does this bother you so much? Its just a sport which is just
entertainment. NBC paying way more than the event should or could ever
really support doesn't make it anymore important. Really.

So, you follow ski racing? You know of his performance on the World
Cup this year, last year, the year before that? Do you even ski? I'm

More likely, you're a cyclist who just swallows the garbage that has
been spewed by the ski racing un-informed that is the US media. You

in re Wordl Cup: if this had been a World Cup event, Bode would have left
with 85 points for his 5th and 6th place finishes, in between the points
awarded to a first and a second.

Nike, like venture capitalists puts money into a whole lot of athletes,
many many of them turn out to be turkeys (jason sehorn?) some turn out

WC after 5 events is pretty damn good. There are a lot of great ski
racers in the WC (I mean out of this world fantastic) that don't get
even that in a whole season let alone after two weeks and 5 events.

Right. And it's more than many racers get in a season. Competitors
finishing first through 30th receive points, but the numbers are pretty
low when you get into the 20s.

I use to ski, all the time, when I lived in Colorado. But it's a little
hard, when you live in the desert in Arizona, like I do now. Anyway, I
wouldn't be able to afford the lift tickets. The only regret I have is that
I never tried cross-country skiing. But everyone told me, back then, it was
too hard. I'm sure they are correct, but all those posers on the slopes,
were starting to make me gag at the end of my gig living in the mountains.
At least with cross-country, you could possibly get away from those jerks.
