You're too late - went past about 20 minutes ago.
I was in that group doing 50kph with the tailwind
along Mounts Bay Rd. (I was dropped after about
    3km).

Oh, by the way, your Usenet settings seem to be OK.

  3. What time do you guys normally meet? What sorta pace is it?

Need to get back on the bike .. got a bit fat after wedding in Brazil
    and Perth...

If you want to see crazy driving check out Sao Paulo ... its not good
    being a cyclist there!

When and where do we meet? Who knows? We
(ie Gumby and I) do not have a formal time sorted.
It's usually arranged over e-mail or phone on Friday.

There are heaps of group rides in Perth and all levels
starting all over the city doing all sorts of distances.
Most are variations on the "round the river" ride.

    Check this out for starters:
    http://www.wa.cycling.org.au/GroupRides.htm
On my Saturday morning ride, I often get caught by a
fast group and hang on to them for a while. I usually
average 31 to 33 for 55km. There are hundreds of riders
out on a typical Perth weekend, I'm sure if you get out
there you'll link up with a group that's doing your pace.

Get out there and get some kms into the legs!

  5. Riding Wednesday will be at meeting point Burke drive at about 06.45.
For a casual round the river clockwise.

Before the temperature gets too hot!

I videoed my commute this morning. Went past a couple of hundred cars
on Charles St. Would make a great advert for cycling in Perth!!

So where is Burke Drive to this not-native-to-Perthite?

How did you do the video? I'd like to do something like
that on a RtR ride one day.

Burke Drive is the road that goes along the river from about Pt Waylen to
Pt Walter. Along the attadale reserve/golf course/Troy Park.

Thanks for that. I've ridden this road often enough (it's a nice
stretch), I should know what it's called.

Good place to wait for friends on weekend mornings and watch all
    the bling whiz past.
