  1. Hi there wondered if you could help me i'm interested in taking up
cycling as a way of keeping fit and am looking to purchase a racing
bike or touring bike but my funds only allow for up to 350 quid does
anyone know of a bike that may be suitable ?

  2. You could have a look at the Dawes web site and see if the Horizon takes
your fancy and fits your budget. Don't forget you might get a discount at
    your LBS for cash etc.

    www.dawes.co.uk

Or maybe have a look at the Orbit site

Do you really want a race bike or do you just mean a road bike?

If you want a new bike at that price, Giant or Claud Butler are good
value brands at the low end. You should be able to pick up a Giant OCR 4
or a Claud Butler San Remo for £300; both have reasonable kit for the
money. Or you can get a Claud Butler Roubaix with carbon forks
(worthwhile - more comfortable ride) for £360 discounted.

    However

    (i) Bike shops are having sales now - you might get a real bargain

(ii) Second hand road bikes are often good buys.

Im about to advertise a Dawes Galaxy, touring bike. 97 model, but Ive
updated a lot of parts - Shimano STI levers, new sks mudguards, new top
touring tyres, new oryx cantilever brakes, new pedals, new handlebars +
ahead style stem/adapter, new brake + gear cables. Frame is 531st
tubing, 64cm size. Im looking to get 330/340ish for it (cost me 295,
parts and levers etc another 120 - so want to get back some money).
Reason for selling - have treated myself to a new Dawes Sardar. Let me
know if you are interested, or would like to see some pics.

  6. Hi all,

I've been given a Pashley tandem, big wheeled older one, though I'm also
giving him a rigid MTB so its a swap I suppose. Anyway does anyone have
any data that might be of use i.e. handbook or know where to find the data.

p.s. Google is not your friend.

Have you tried e-mailing Pashley? When I had a query regarding my
friend's trike they answered almost immediately.
