  1. Just brought one of these, and have used it on my race bike without any problems. Its in autostart mode so that when I move off it automatically starts. However, when i use it on my commute (different bike without the speed sensor) i start it by hitting the big red button but it tends to stop itself (recording the excercise) at random times. Sometimes it stops after 10 second, other times after 10 mins.

Anyone know why? how do i fix this??

  2. Go into the options and turn the auto start/stop function off. This will allow you to manually start with the red button, and stop with the lower left button. Otherwise when you hit start the computer will automatically stop when it doesn't pick-up a signal from the wheel sensor.

    I've used a 720i with autostart/stop on for 3 years...works great.

It stops because the Polar it's wating for the sensor input, and it's not receiving any data so it' chooses to stop. In the 720 you can configure two diferent bikes one with autostar for the bike with the sensor and other with out it for the conmuter. Before starting any ride, you can choose wich configuration to use.

It's under the BIKE SET menu from the OPTIONS set.

I agree it works great if you are using the wheel sensor. Sounds like he doesn't have a wheel sensor on his commuter bike. I have to disable the the autostart when I use the trainer as the front wheel doesn't turn. I never thought about using the second bike setup, that is a good idea!
