Just thought I'd let everyone know that I bought some Assos Uno Shorts. Fairly expensive at 70 odd quid but absolutley fantastic. I can't belive what I have been missing out on for all these years. Got them from Parker International - fabulous on line retailer
What do the Assos F1.mille shorts offer over and above the Uno? Anyone tries these? Thinking of getting some of them....

What is so good about them ? What have you been missing ?
They are extremely comfortable and allow a big 17 stone rider like me to spend a lot longer in the saddle compared to cheaper shorts. A [censored] bit I thought perhaps others might find useful.

I bought a pair and found them no better than 50 quid shorts (Campag being my current favourite) so have gone back to those

I've a pair of Assos Mille. I tried everything they had in stock at the Edinburgh Bike Co-op and the moment I tried on the Assos I could tell they were better than the Specialized, Endura, Co-op etc.Using them on the bike confirmed it. 50 quid isn't much if it adds to the enjoyment of your bike riding.

Are you any particular body shape, or just 'average'?
I'm 6'2" and about 12 stone. The Specialized were pretty good but just far too tight around the leg. And it's not as if I have tree trunk legs.

I got an email today from Rapha, to inform me about their new summer range. Now, I confess to owning a pair of Rapha mitts, and they are really, really nice (and so they bl**dy should be at the price). And I'll confess that I'm wearing a pair of Rapha socks at this very moment. But if you think Assos shorts are pricey, how about these?

Ouch. Imagine coming off your bike wearing those bib-tights - it would ruin your whole day. Since it's confession time I also have a Rapha shirt but it was a gift and it is every bit as comfortable as you would expect. Trouble is I got it for my birthday in December so I've not had a chance to wear it yet (except posing around the house).
