  1. Okay, so this is getting really, really freaky. How many is this -- 200? More?

No way Joop had THAT MANY seconds. He finished second in GC in a few Tours,
I believe. What Eric's doing is supernatural.

  4. Hiya:
Why all the seconds? My theory: Zabel is blind. Not "nothing at all
works" blind, but "the eye chart at the DMV is a white smudge in that
direction even with my contacts in place" blind. His iPod is loaded
with text to speech conversions from the Braille Monitor's web site, he
lets others lead until the sprint where he can see the finish and
that's where he tries to get ahead. He won't race Paralympics because
Annie Compton was already committed to her stoker and the rest of the
Paralympics pilots sounded a little bit on the wheezy and out-of-shape
side. Paralympic competition is simply not widespread or plentiful.
And frankly, he's so tired of,and cranky about, getting pity pats from
folks he and his pilot dropped by the start of the club rides and
citizen's races that it's less stressful for him to pass as sighted and
    race as a pro.

I thought you were describing Zulle, not Zabel!

    Dumbass -

Zoetemelk won a Tour. You're confusing him with Poulidor, "the eternal
    second".

    thanks,

    K. Gringioni.

Perhaps they could ride a tandem at the next paralympics.
