  1. The Stones are the fatty masters of the entertainment
industry. The halftime show made it very clear that
time is no longer on their side. They sucked.

    Overheard during the show:

"He doesn't have the breath support to do that anymore."
From someone with a background in choral groups, referring
    to Sir Mick.

"He looks like he needs to go to the bathroom." From someone
young enough to be Sir Mick's granddaughter.

Coming after Sir Paul's show last year I think the NFL really
needs to go with someone whose best years were at least in the
    current century.

Yeah, when I think breath support, I think of Mick in the 1960s.

The Masters of Fat were singing the national antem, sort of. What's
left of New Orleans was probably wishing that the garbled sound system
hadn't left a lot of people with the idea that what's left of Aretha
Franklin and her voice came from New Orleans. The Detroit fans applaud
her because she reminds of the time before Motown moved out of
    Detroit.

Thank god for the mute button.

And to think they once complained about Jose Feliciano...

I saw them up close in the early 80s and they even looked old then. If my
dad pranced around the way Mick does, I'd have him committed.

Still controversial enough for ABC to censor them. Apaling.

Absolutely the worst performance of the National Anthem at a major
sporting event since the time Roseanne sang at a baseball game.

Oh, yea... the Stones sucked, too.

I was only half-watching, and wondered if there would be a problem with
"you make a dead man come", but I didn't hear any dead air. Was it
bleeped out or did they censor themselves?
    Either way, pathetic.

  9. Steve, there was a 5 second delay on the entire broadcast. And I'm sure
they're laughing all the way to the bank.

If there had been a wardrobe malfunction I swear I would

But they aren't fat. Look at other rockers from that era if
    you want to scare yourself.

My new ambition is to be as skinny and skanky as Mick Jagger
when I'm that old. I'm already past the Pete Townshend
"Hope I die before .." point.

Keef! Richards is the real deal. Jagger probably works out to Richard Simmons or
something, but Keef is just a force of nature. They're going to clone his liver
and use it to replace space shuttle tiles.

Where's the Chung Chart for the BMI of '60s and '70s rockers who still
    perform?

    Dumbass -

The way his skin looks, it seems as if the waste products in his system
bypass the liver and store themselves subcutaneously.

    thanks,

Perhaps Davie can give us some odds on the Rolling stones vs Bob Dylan vs
David Bowie on a Alpe 'd Huez TT.

Now Davey has to confess his ignorance

He never heard of any of those guys

    Callas is about my limit plus a few others;;;;;;;;;

But on the subject of Callas, did you hear the one about Jackie and Ari?

Well Jackie and Ari just came back from a few days cruising on the "Christina",
    Ari's boat

They only just walked in the door when the phone rings.

    Jackie answers it.

"Ari, it's that firkin' Callas [censored] again for you," says Jackie

Ari trots to the phone and chats happily to Maria for half an hour.

Meanwhile Jackie's almost hot enough to you know what

At dinner later Jackie says to Ari, "Now how do you think that Broken Down Has Been
opera singer knows exactly when we get back home every time?"

"Because I phone ahead and tell her," says Ari

I saw an early-80's Stones tour and they sounded MUCH worse than they did at
SB40. Face it, Bob, you're just jealous. The Stones still sell out world tours
while bikee masters fattys sit home and watch the SB.

Promise Mick some adulation on top and he'd win over that list.

Opera - Latin for "Death By Music"
I can appreciate the skill it takes to sing opera but I sure don't
    enjoy it.
