Guys, I notice that the really fine French touring bikes, (Herses, Singers, etc.) generally have the generator mounted so that the rubber cap is turned by the rim itself rather than the tire wall. They always use one of those rubber "hats", and I would of course do the same, but in any case I am wondering which is correct: rim or actual sidewall of the tire?
