    I'm looking for a good set of pedals that can be clipless when needed and platform when needed, any

    There are quite a few -- [censored], Time, and Eggbeaters come to mind immediately, and I think there
    are more. I have the Times, and I like them. [censored] make several -- one for downhill and one for
    cross-country.

    As long as Shimano makes these cambriabike.comshimano m 646 dual clipless pedal.htm
    I'll never use another.

    with spd on both sides how do you keep from inadvertently becoming cliped in when you
    don't want to?

    my problem is an old ankle injury which makes in hard to release from my


    pedals, the twisting motion kills me sometimes.

    Buy your choice of platforms and your choice of clipless and a 15mm wrench. It's the only way. For
    platforms I really like my Ringle Mag Octanes, if you can find them. My clipless pedals generally
    rest comfortably in my parts bin.

    I love my new Time Z pedals I have on my utility bike. They work great with bike shoes or sneakers.

    I have Time ATACs on my other mountain bikes, so this lets me use the same shoes. I don't bother
    with any sort of platform on my dedicated off-road bikes.

    You don't. Sometimes you clip in when you don't want to. I've learned to keep my feet toward the
    outside of the pedals (or somewhere else) when not clicked in.

    I recently started using the Times in that configuration and I love them


    very rugged and if they hold up like most times I have seen I may have them forever. I have seen the
    new Egg Beater version and they look interesting as well. Good Luck Rick B
