I use my Computrainer with a Computer. If I ride against a Course (3D, Pro, CS), and bail on the ride before completing the course, I find I can't save what I did as a seperate performance file.
What I would like to do, is get on the bike, do my ride, and save that ride as ANYTHING that would allow analysis of the data in CyclingPeaks.
Which Computer Program of the 3 (3D, Pro, or CS) will allow this (if any), and what are the settings if possible?

I use a CT with 3D and CyclingPeaks. If I choose not to finish a ride, all I need to do is hit "r" on the keyboard of my PC twice to save the performance. -
I thought you had to have the coaching software in order to save it in a format that could be opened by the Cycling Peaks software. Are you saying you can save your performance file in the 3dp format, and open it with Cycling Peaks?

Yes. Press "r" on your computer keyboard - twice. It will save the performance. Choose rider #1 or #2 and name the performance. Save. Open CyclingPeaks and go through the drag and drop proceedure. You're happy now, aren't you?! -
After updating myself on the RacerMate forum, are you using the new Beta Software to do this? To answer your question, yes I would be very happy to be able to save all the data in a 3rd party program without having to purchase the Coaching Software. It looks like this is possible with the new update (Beta) at RacerMate. I called them a year ago and was quite upset when I learned I had to pay and additional $75 for software to do this.

Your 3D software should work. I am not using a beta 3D. I am also not using the coaching software. My system is about 3 years old. 3D v.3 software and CyclingPeaks. -

what 3D version software are you running? I know the latest official releases do not allow conversion of .3dp into CPS readable formats. Perhaps the older software releases did (still do).rmur

Ok, after spending the morning doing research instead of working, I think I have an answer.😄 On the older versions of the CT, they didn't encrypt the workout files. Once Racermate started the concept of racing online for prizes, they were required to encrypt the files to prevent cheating. Seems this concept didn't go over to well. Anyway they have now decided to change the software to allow unencrypted files.
So it looks like depending on when you bought, or upgraded your software you could either have encrypted or unencrypted files. I know that I have the encrypted version because CP will not recognize my files. For those in my situation, downloading the Beta program and re-saving all my workout files will unencrypt them, thus allowing me to upload them into CP.
Kudos to Racermate for doing this. I could never understand having to spend another $75 on top of the $1,400 already spent in order to save the information in a reviewable format.

sweet ... I hadn't tried importing into CPS and just happened to have a large file (3:11 100k ride) that I zipped and emailed to work. Funny thing is that I estimated NP was only 5W greater than AP and that's exactly what it was ...

Those bastages! Good for you -- I should have done the research/made the phone call! I shelled out the 75 bucks for a worthless program (CS) just so I can move my files to Cyclingpeaks.

I am running Version N324.3.0.10Now, maybe someone could help me? Recently, my computer says "Not Connected" when I'm ready to train and I press Race Now. I have replaced the stereo cable, tested it with another Pro Handlebar controller and tested the communications port. No luck. I defragmented my computer. Nothing. I'll reload the software next. Has anyone ever experienced this problem?

Will CS allow me to select a portion of my ride and average it - say, the last minute of a MAP test? -

Mine will do this if I start my computer with the USB cable plugged in. In my case the fix is to plug the USB cable in after the computer has booted. -

Jim, I'm fairly new to WV, do you do any races around this area? -
Check to make sure no other program is accessing the Port you have configured for the Controller connection. It might be runing in the background.

Currently they are selling the Computrainer and the Coaching software comes with it free. I just bought the Computrainer in November and was excited to have the Coaching software but it is pretty worthless. -

Depending on how you use it, the Coaching Software can be much better than the 3D in training. Have a look at Comutrainer info at:

I was going to say the same thing. I was peeved to have to pay the money but now use it in with .erg files at least twice a week. It's especially good with intervals.
