I've just stayed at a B&B - Lattendales - bang in the middle. Did single
rooms. Seems a helpful landlady.www.lattendales.co.uk

Run that by me again will you please? I could have sworn you mentioned
'cheap' and 'Ambleside' in the same sentence.--

They've improved tremendously. When were you last in a hostel? They're
quite civilised these days, and don't even expect you to sweep the floor

B & B and then leave my car while I do a three day hill walk trip?Try http://www.elterwater.com. It's a few miles west of Ambleside, and
may suit your purposes better if the three-day trip involves Langdale
at all. And there is enough space that I'm sure the owners wouldn't
mind leaving a car there.Colin

I stayed in a B&B that was right outside the bus stops in the centre. It
was ideal for buses and food and they didnt mind us leaving our car. It was
£20 per night but included a fantastic breakfast and a large room with all
mods. They were really friendly and helpful and I felt very guilty that we
gave 10% to the TIC for finding it. I wish I could remember the name. I
could tell you exactly where it was but not the name.Rob
