Are you looking at the Nashbar Veloce 9 speed derailleurs? I bought
one a couple months ago to use on my new 10 speed build up. There are
a few physical differences between the 9 and 10 rear derailleurs. One
is the inner jockey wheel cage on 10 speed rear derailleurs is thinner
than on 9 speed rear derailleurs. On 10 speed cassettes they get some
extra room by offsetting the inner cog towards the spokes a little bit.
So the rear derailleur jockey wheel inner cage has to get a little bit
closer to the spokes. So Campagnolo makes that part a little bit
thinner on 10 speed rear derailleurs. May be other physical
differences too.

Will work fine. If it's a newer Veloce, the pulleys are 9/10 anyway.
I am told that the unit is narrower at the pulley but that never made
any difference on any bikes I've used or set up. 8sp rear derailleurs
work ok too.

going to get it.
