  1. Searching through some photos I found a couple of old(ish) photos from the Malvern Classic, a UK
race / fun weekend that sadly is now no longer. Thanks to bomba for hosting the pics you too can now
admire the state-of-the-art downhill bike raced to victory by a certain infamous UK rider and world
    cup round winner j-harris.netrw3.jpg

In those days they had to push back up to the top between runs (this was a dual descender knock-out
    type race) j-harris.netrw1.jpg

And just to prove he actually rode this gleaming DH machine j-harris.netrw2.jpg

Another famous (UK) rider laying down some style j-harris.netja1.jpg

And finally, a pic of my Orange in all its purple pimpy glory.
    j-harris.netOrange1.jpg

Theres no outer chainring on it because I used to practice trials on it...

    Cheers folks,

    Steve.

    I'd guess at around '95...

Hey, I was about right - here are pics of Steve Peat racing in the same glorious skin suit in '95:

    stevepeat.com95 saracen 1.jpg stevepeat.com95 saracen 2.jpg
(notice the switch from puny Marzocchi XC forks to boulder-gobbling RS Judy DH's 🙂
    stevepeat.comNats 95.jpg

I always felt it was a pity that beer sponsors left the sport. Actually, wasn't it at the '95
Malverns where the Coors truck got stolen and returned a few minutes later (empty)?

Oh, and this is Spademan in a tie-dye Slayer T-shirt: j-harris.netse1.jpg

    Nice.
