How long is a piece of string? As it happens we will be there a few
days later - see thread subject: Expedition xx Mull May 4/5/6. I have
a hankering for a linear walk across Mull (Knock to Kinloch taking in
Loch Ba, Glen Clachaig, Creag Mhic Fhionnlaidh and A Chioch) but that
is for sentimental reasons and requires the use of two cars or two
buses and a hitch.

The usual way is to start at the carpark near Dhiseig.

Whatever way you chose it is going to be at least 966m of ascent.

Why not join the urw expedition that is aiming to get to the top at 1.23
on 4/5/6?

Or a bicycle. The road only rises to 153m in Glen Seilisdeir.

But it does that in 2km so its a 1 in 13 :-(

For comparison The Snake Road rises from 260 to 390 in a similar
distance over the middle of it's course from Glossop to The Snake
Pass.

We did it from the north, via Glenn na Beinn Fadha and over the Cioch.
It was an excellent walk. The Dhiseig path is the more well-worn path
as the ascent fron there offers significantly less challenges that the
Cioch route, which is very airy in parts.

The other route, described by Chris Gilbert, via Beinn Fada and A'
Cioch sounds fun!

concentrating aspirant Munroists on fixed lines. :-)

I'll second that. You can also do some scrambling up the sides if you're so
inclined.
