It does have to go sideways tho' I'll see how I get on with it.

Cateye do alternative brackets for stem-mounting - presumably with the computer facing the
right way!

A few of my friends have picked up some £8.99 gizmo, I'm interested in something a bit more pricey

Hi there,

I spent about £10 on one from ebay and its excellent - very reliable - plus i dont need the link to
PC option - i just set up a spreadsheet and plonk the data in - shows me my stats just as well -
getting faster and faster!

Indeed. They mount with cable ties, so can also be used on recumbent frame tubes - Cosimo the
Stealth Baron has a Mity mounted thus.

I've found the opposite.

Cordless systems have the extra complications of an extra battery and transmissions not being
received or being interefered with. Apart from any problems with the interface between head unit
and bracket (which is usually no problem with modern quality brands), there's less to go wrong
with corded systems.

I have been running cordless on four bikes and trikes now for 7/8 years and other than battery
replacement have had no problems whatsoever.

With wired set ups I've had cables pull out, get nipped, and snagged - and even cut.

Plus cordless are sooooo much neater.

They are reliable in my experience and we're not exactly inundated with tales of broken wires on
this group.

I've had loads of broken wires. stretched wires, cut wires...
