Check eBay, Craig's List, and the "For Sale" sections on bicycle forums for similar bikes. Also, Google or other search engines may bring up someone else's attempt to sell a similar bike. You can also try to list more than the brand and color here and see what happens.

Size is important (some are in greater demand such as 56 - 58 cm due to being the right size for many cyclists), as is condition. If possible, pics are helpful.

A complete description of the bike and components will help others give you an estimate, and it will also help you get a good price when you sell it. If you post "Pink Bike" on Craig's List or eBay, don't expect any responses... If you are complete in your listing, you will get responses.

Also, depending on what you mean by old, there are some forums that have sections designated for classic and vintage bikes that could provide some good expertise (for example bikeforums.net has one).

I guess less than $200. They're not real collectible but you might find somebody who rode one when he was hot stuff and carries some nostalgia. There's some Vitus on eBay if you check completed listings- a lot of them go unsold.

Couple questions:

1. Cilo was Swiss, Vitus was French - is this a Cilo made with Vitus tubing or something?

2. If you're "just getting into the sport", how come you have an old bike to get rid of?
