I remember that 1980 race well indeed. I'd been running for 16 months; it
was my fifth marathon. I still have the yellow T-shirt in my drawer.

Somewhere far behind her finish (but way ahead of her start), I was dying in
the 80+ heat, running my first and last Boston 18 minutes slower than my
qualifying time in 3:02, good for about 2100th place. Got my positive
split PR there: about 22 minutes...
