  1. Hi

Does anyone know wrist-warmers for use on a bike?

My bike has a long reach, and my wrists are slightly exposed - I think
arm-warmers would be too long though...

    Regards,
    Mark.

    A couple of sweat bands?

I've got some wrist warmer things I probably bought in a
camping/outdoors shop some years back. basically tube of Merkalon
thermal fabric with thumbhole to stop them riding up, though you don't
    need to use this.

A quick Googling for wrist warmer:

    Listed here, but no piccie:

    Nice angora wool ones :-)

Or pair of old socks with the feet cut off?

Wrist sweat band thingy's, or just gloves with longer cuffs (or both, which
is what I do when it's silly cold).

I have some of these too, but no idea where I bought them...

My big toe makes those for me.

Obviously in a rather different position to mine, Mr Chimp!

I solve this problem by wearing a Parrot base layer with very long sleeves
which I tuck into glove liners (from Cotswold Outdoor).

I tended not to sue the thumbhole if used on a bike as it was a bit
    uncomfortable with gloves

Or if you ever get a new jacket there are some with extra long sleeves.
I have a Gore Helium windstopper jacket & it's excellent. Nice slim
cut & longer than average sleeves with velcro around the wrists so i
can tighten it up at the wrists on put the gloves on over the top.
I've gone thru a load of veil type jackets in the last few years & this
was really worth the extra money :-)

  11. Thanks all! Some very good suggestions I have bought some towelling
sweatbands from a sports shop, but they seem quite tight. I'll see how
it goes. The outdoor shop sounds like a good idea too.

    Cheers!

Alternatively, try wearing safety footwear to ensure a steady supply -
the likes of DMs with steel toecaps seem to drastically shorten the
    lifespan of the average sock!
Incidentally, in reply to the original post, some kind of "extended"
arm-warmers sufficient to cover the wrist, and incorporating a
thumb-hole, would be an ideal solution - are any such products
    available?
