Any nice walks in Woodstock?

The town itself is worth just wandering around - quite small
so most routes will just double back onto the main streets with
no need for a fixed plan. Plenty of pubs, galleries, etc.

The classic walk, though, is through the grounds from Blenheim
palace, over the Grand Bridge and up to the monument. There's a short
return route to the east of the lake and a longer one to the west.

I think the pedestrian entrance is near 'Mus' on the OS map :

Strange that! If you reverse the letters of Llareggub you get

There are some quite nice walks in the Corridor between Oxford and the
Cotswolds. Around Stonesfield and Church Enstone, there are good places to
walk and a really excellent pub and walks at Great tew.

With the Cotswolds I find it is preferable to just get hold of an OS Map and
plan (loosely) your own walks. The footpaths are all well maintained and you
should be able to do some nice walks from Woodstock.

Aled,

There is a 16 mile walk starting in Woodstock, to be found in one of the
"Walker's Britain" books.

I will give you some co-ordinates if you like, but the book describes sights
of interest, such as "lost villages" along the way.
