I'd appreciate it if you didn't follow me so close next time, although I
understand you were mesmerized by my riding prowess.

(What's really sick is the guy hasn't been riding THAT long; he was a
world-class wind-surfer* before that.)

You were there, but not on my front wheel.

Jet Skier, according to Porter. Natural athletes tend to get good
really quickly at just about any athletic endeavor they choose. He's a
really good example of that.

Slack can climb, just not very far. I saw him climb once... once.

Once does not make him a climber. If he was a climber, he'd have a
fixie on those paved hills in San Pedro.

Well, write a slo-mo version of your miscue and let's see where you
went wrong. Learning from mistakes ensures you don't make the same one
twice.

Three key things I did wrong on that section. First I didn't get securely
clipped into my pedals (insert your response of...."I don't know how you
guys ride with those things" here), second I didn't get my ass back far
enough, a lot having to do with not being clipped in and my left foot slid
forward and nearly off my pedal causing my body to come forward to
compensate (forward momentum of my body was horizontal and the bike vector
was at a down angle so there's some moment arm in here somewhere), and
third.....I put my arms out to break my fall instead of rolling with the
endo. Of course I could have landed on one of those large boulders
breaking my neck which would make all of this moot....
I could have listed the three as .....getting on my bike, riding my bike,
and, not getting off my bike.........
Gary (my wife doesn't think it's as funny as I do.....)

I would have gotten... "Now look what you did to yourself." and "Don't
expect any help from me." or "I guess I am still going to have to do all
the work around here and taking care of the kids myself".
Come to think of it, she's says those things anyway and I am not injured.

My wife doesn't usually say much about my riding and assorted injuries but
this one has pretty much caused me to come to a screeching halt for doing
anything but sitting at the computer up until now. Should have seen me
trying to clean up the dinner dishes the other night! I got mad, she got
mad and we huffed and puffed until I got the damn things cleaned up. Good
thing I still have oxycodiene since I was pretty sore after scrubbing that
big frying pan......a man's work is never done!!! :-)
It's a damn good thing I didn't have any paying jobs lined up as I would
have been screwed. I did manage to not get a gift project completed and
won't for another month or so. That is unless the doc finds other
damage.....
