as extreme low calorie does. Just about did me in when I tried Atkins
induction levels. OTOH, about 50-70 grams of carb per day doesn't crash me.Susan

and became extremely depressed. I took Cytomel for a while (T3 drug)
then when I took high dose chromium, I had to stop it. I haven't been
hypothyroid since taking 1000 mcg of chromium per day. In fact, if I
take more than 400mcg per day, I become hyperthyroid. Still, losing
that 20 lbs was very hard and took years. My metabolism never recovered, though, and I still have to eat low carb
and low calorie.Susan

That's why I take Thyrolar.
It supplements both T3 and T4.

Metformin is really beginning to make me unbearably nauseous.Did it raise T3, T4 or both?????

Then you are still hypo, no? I mean, thyroid controls metabolism.

It supplements both T3 and T4.My T4 was high normal, only my T3 was low. I no longer need to take
anything. I still eat low carb and only occasionally take extra chromium.Susan

I didn't retest at the time, I just stopped the Cytomel when I got
intense palpitations, head and eyeball pressure. Happens every time I
take too much of it.Last week, my T4 was still high normal, and my free T3 was in the middle
of normal.Susan

But not all by itself. I'm very insulin resistant, even on metformin
and low carb.Susan

Last test my T3 was normal, T4 low, but TSH is still running high.
Around 10. Supposed to be below 3. :-(

not, I wouldn't worry about the TSH.Susan

Not as far as I can tell, except for some hair issues...
Cycles are dead on the calender and body temp. is normal, but I still
have trouble losing weight and suffer from severe fluid retention. That
goes with hypothyroidism. ;-pT4 is normal, but way down on the low side. Last test had it at 4.8.
Upper normal is 12......
