The womens version of the Raichle are top rated boots in one of the mags
(Icant recall if its Trail of Country Walking) My Mrs has a pair and loves
them, her Scarpa boots rubbed her heels badly, but the Raiche fitted her
    perfectly.

Been using a pair of Raichle Mountain Trails through the summer and autumn.
Theyv'e managed some 200 Lakeland hills in that time and have been superb.
Fit, for my feet, is very good. Changed now to my Scarpa Manatas for winter
but in Spring I'll be back in the Raichles. Please note though the boots
fitted me from day one. I spent a couple of hours trying on various boots
    before selecting the Raichles.

  4. I bought a pair of Scouts a few weeks ago, nice boots comfortable, good grip
and suit my high instep really well.

Could you explain what shape feet you have? I've been using the same
pair of boots for a very long time (they've been resoled) but they won't
    last forever... 🙁

Sorry, but giving someone a pair of boots as a present is a crazy idea.
The number 1 priority with boots is how well they fit YOU - all else is
secondary. Raichle are a decent make, but if they don't fit you well
    they are worthless to you.

So, to your question - "are they any good?". If they fit you very well
(which would be extremely lucky) then yes. If they don't, then no.

Unless you have a lot of experience in fitting boots, you may not know
how well they fit. You really should go to a shop with a good
reputation for boot fitting before buying a pair.

  8. thanks to you all. had them on for a trip to the sales and they felt like
slippers. .....if they can handle that ...........bring on the
    munros...........best £140 i never spent.
