The more I see of this kind of idiocy, the more I agree with my father's saying "Any fool can design
something complicated - it takes real genius to do the same thing simply." And I assume this bike is
for urban work, since it has slicks....

Too funny...I can see the executes at Pacific rifling thru GT's past "projects." "Hell yes!!! This
is it...send the prints over to our fab vendor in Taiwan. I want 500 of them next week!"

Let the newbies and naive argue over who will be first to drink the vomit.
And your Dad is right, but unfortunately those type of engineers are very rare and expensive,
rightfully so. They're usually called Consultants.

Oh, I seen them. The US distributor lives a few miles from me. I've seen many a Nicolai up at Big
Bear being tested. Nothing says hideous like Nicolai.
I was sharing a chairlift with someone who was riding the DH Nicolai and I asked him how he liked
his rig. He didn't have an opinion yet because it was his first time on it. Fast forward two weeks
- I see the same guy again; he's back riding his old trusty M1. I didn't have a chance to talk to
him again.

Ouch. I have to wonder how long a chain lasts when you're driving the whole mess with what looks
like a 12 tooth chainring, basically doubling the tension on the chain(s) compared to your previous
worst case 22-tooth granny.
Very strange indeed...

I don't know, if you study it, it basically looks like a lot of other FS bikes on the market.
Yeah, there are some square tubes, but mostly it looks weird because of the angle that it's
photographed from.

Really? Seems like it would be the 12-tooth chainring that would really be hurting.

Shame. I always imagined that although they looked like a bag of nails there must be some point to
it all. Next you're going to tell me the Brooklyn supertrucker doesn't pedal well either....

That too... with twice the tension and each tooth getting used twice as often, I'd suggest buying
"chainrings" by the dozen...
