  1. I picked up a computrainer pro from a friend a while back and I really like it and training with power. So, i recently bought a powertap. I have used the pt on the ct to compare the data and the PT is consistenly 75 watts or so higher... anyone have a similar experience, hear about this or have any suggestions.

    Happy New Year~!~

  2. Have you zeroed the torque on the PT and done whatever one does to calibrate Computrainers?
    That's a pretty considerable difference...

Also, when was your CT made?

It was purchased new 2 years ago and used very little when I bought a few months back. Is there a problem with older models?

I did zero the PT and rode 3 hours this am and I have noticed that it was reading different than the ride I did yesterday outdoors. It is lower. This afternoon I am going to test it against the CT.

    Thanks

you should zero your PT before every ride and calibrate your CT as well. It doesn't take a large temp. swing to throw the PT off. When I ride, I try to put my bike out 10-15min before leaving so that temps can equalize, then zero it when I'm rolling. The PT auto-zero does seem to work well but only if the ZO isn't too high to start with.

Older CT's don't have a great reputation for accuracy but 75W .. say on 200-300 would be phenomenably bad ...

  6. My PT and CT are almost spot on.
Zero torque on PT, and calibrate CT after 10 min warm up, with resistance setting 2.00 - 2.50.

  7. I took the advice of zeroing the torque and it works perfectly!!!! thanks all!
