    I haven't ridden a bike for a week, and remarkably I haven't missed it a
bit. I /have/ had a few sessions of riding round the patio with the
kids, though. Firstborn on 3 wheels, secondborn on 4 and Daddy on one.
    They love it.

I'm sure I'll enjoy the ride into work on Tuesday, after such a
    prolonged lay-off.

    Hehehe.

My first ride of 2006 was wetter than any I remember from 2005.
Yet according to the Beeb website it's been dry here since
    late afternoon yesterday.

New years resolution: get a cheap slick back tyre. Yesterday I put the
Cannondale onto a turbo trainer, and started the process of getting my
legs back into shape. No, the surgeons haven't said I can, yet, but...

It felt wonderful to be back on a bike and pedalling, even on a turbo -
but the noise was like a jet being run up to full thrust at close range.

    I got a present for New Year - a puncture ... from a staple about 1/2"
deep, so two holes in one go. Good job it wasn't particularly cold,
plus it was easy to get at (front wheel of Trice).

We have a Tacx, not the bottom model but one of the lower-end ones. It's
fine. About UKPounds120 but they start at about UKPounds80.

Yes, Happy New Year to everyone.

My new year's resolution to work less (ride more).

Simon: I am happy to hear that you are back on the trainer.

    Happy 2006!
