  1. Hi I have been reading this group for a long long time, never really
posted that much. Well I would like to introduce myself and give a
little info now that I feel ready. My name is maralyn and I have
been doing strick low carb for 4 months. I mean strick in that I got
it down 100%. I flirted with it for years on and off. My weight is
good not overweight but sugar problems run in my family and my sister
went blind at age 41 do to detached retinas. She has diabetes and
never managed it. There was no operation that held her retinas back in
place so she is blind. This scared me to manage my carbs. I believe
in my mind if she watched her diet this would not have happened. Dont
get me wrong I love my sister but this really scared me. So here I am
giving it my all. I enjoy this group , even JC!! I agree with alot
of things said and find many cool people here. Maralyn

  2. Are you sure that's how you're supposed to spell your name?

    Thanks!

I'm so-so regarding my weight. I gained some back while panicking at
the excessive sagginess when 2 lbs away from goal. Now I'm considering
declaring myself at goal, even though I'd like to lose more. I like the
way my body looks through a fuzzy lens at the lower weight, but now that
the regained weight has settled in, some of the sagginess has abated,
and it was REALLY bothering me. This was an issue that Jenny also
grappled with. At the age of 33 (the last time I weight 125), I looked
pretty good (but a little haggard) -- at the age of 50 (and after being
so stretched out), however, it kind of clangs. What to do, what to do?
I haven't really changed my carb level much, but I've been eating too
many extra calories, and in MY case, calories DO count.
