Vuelta 2006 route

Early mountains will see a first selection - first mountain stage into Bejar!
Glad to see the return to Galicia.
Stage 9 in Asturias looks like a real killer.
Tough rolling stages and perhaps some windy ones will make for a few fuga stage winners.
Missing Lagos de Covadonga and Angliru
Time trials are very short... 33km and 28km
A climber will take el maillot oro into Madrid... Pereiro quizas.

The 2006 Vuelta route is going to make that race well worth watching.

Stages 9, 15 and 18 look like absolute killers to me.

The route with the categorised climbs tell only half the story : because knowing the Spanish predilection for hard racing, those other stages do include climbs which will be tough (even though they're not regarded as
"climbing" stages).

I wouldn't worry about the Angliru's ommission : there will be more than enough climbing to sort out the favs.

The Stage 18 only have a big mountain in final!
