Chocolate Fountain Feedback

My choices - bananas, apples, tangerines, shortbread cookies, peanut
butter cookies. I wanted strawberries but couldn't find any in town.

Kids added - piroulines, marshmallows, and even veggies from the veggie
tray. Apparently chocolate covered raw broccoli went over well 😉 One
DS was going to try a dipped dill pickle on a dare but I convinced him
that after drinking a beer or two that might not be a real good idea.
The little kids had candies one of their grandparents gave them so they
thought those were fair game.

It was a heck of a lot of fun though and something I would definitely
include in holiday entertaining again.

Sounds like the chocolate fountain was a ripping success, and a good time

We broke our fountain out Christmas Eve (along with a huge pot of
garlic cheese fondue -- great recipe, I'll post it if anyone wants it),
and despite my initial reservations, it was a huge hit!

In fact, I just finished the last of the angel food cake I used (I have
been eating the leftover chocolate for a couple of days now)... not
only was the fountain a huge hit -- and, according to my husband, easy
to clean -- but I now know that adding canola oil to Guittard milk
chocolate chips elevates them to something ambrosial, like melted
truffles. Yum. I've always noticed that vegetable oil is the second
ingredient in many truffles. Now I understand why. Oh -- we used
angel food cake, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, marshmallows,
and yes, someone dipped broccoli -- and a carrot. Ugh.

Note -- the model I had has a magnetic electric plug -- if someone
yanks it, it just comes unplugged rather than tipping over and dumping
chocolate everywhere. Only problem we ran into overall was that we had
to add more oil to get the chocolate to 'sheet' properly...
