Well, in a few days, those people who subsidize our gym memberships will be showing up for a few weeks to use the gym, fresh on fire with New Years Resolutions.
How long do you all think it will take before the number of people in the gym will go back to normal?

It usually bottoms out about mid-March and rises slightly again in mid-spring from people who are determined to "get in shape" for swimsuit season.

My new year's resolution is to try to help people and to become a better person.

Depends upon: 1) How quickly EMS shows up to resuscitate. 2) How quickly their insurance boots them out of hospital. 3) Did DOMS pass before (1) or (2)?
If we're lucky all the male folk will try viagra in a fit of spring fever, go blind, wander out into traffic, and die. "Look honey! Another one! Must be Spring has sprung...he's on point!"

It normally lasts until about the beginning of February in my gym; they like to see January out - at least.
Mind you, I've got some work to do again, having put on over a stone over the course of the year.

I'm going to stop "trolling" John Williams, but it's conditional on him not "trolling" others in the Group!
That's one resolution that won't survive the 1st January 2006! ;o)

Wow! Have you really thought that through with the implications? It is a grand gesture nevertheless. I hope he does not squander this opportunity!

I do hope he sees the wisdom of this gesture, as it would be so good for the Group and John could get back to impressing us all with his in-depth diatribes copied and pasted from the Internet on all matters of deep scientific and medical interest.
Wouldn't *that* be nice? ;o)
Are we swapping quips now?
I'm looking forward to Curt joining us in quipping merrily if we are.

Yes we are swapping quips - but they are not 'short' quips. (not sure if long quips count)

It always works this way: 2-3 weeks after Jan 1st, more people. 2-3 weeks after the beginning of fall, more people. 2-3 weeks before it starts getting warm out, more people.
In college it would happen at the beginning of every semester, after New Year's and of course a couple weeks before spring break - "I'm gonna get ripped for Spring Break."
The least busy time is always in the middle of the summer because people are "working out outside" (June-August) then the dead of winter (late January, February).
