Christmas Punch
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
4 cup bottled cranberry juice
1 1/2 cup lemon juice
2 cup orange juice
2 cup unsweetened pineapple juice
Block or ice or Della Robbia Ice ring
2 bottles (28 oz. each) ginger ale
Combine sugar and water in small sauce pan. Bring to boil, stirring until
sugar dissolves. cover and boil over low heat without stirring for about
five minutes. Combine the sugar syrup (while warm) and all the fruit
juices. Chill thoroughly. Just before serving time, put block of ice or
ice ring in a punch bowl. Pour in fruit juice mixture. Ladle punch over
the ice until well chilled. Pour in the ginger ale just before serving.
Makes 24 to 30 punch cup servings.
Christmas Fruit Punch
1 (6 oz.) can frozen orange juice
2 (6 oz.) can frozen limeade
1 (6 oz.) can frozen lemonade
1 lg. can pineapple juice
1 pt. cranberry juice cocktail
2 (4 c.) cold water
2 qts. chilled gingerale
1 qt. plain chilled soda water
1 qt. frozen strawberries
Mint garnish
Empty frozen juices, pineapple and cranberry juice, and water in a large
container. Let stand until frozen juice is thawed; stir well. Add frozen
strawberries. Pour mixture into punch bowl. Add ice cubes. Just before
serving, gently pour in gingerale and soda water. Top with fruit ice ring
and sprigs of mint. Fruit Ice Ring: Use any combination of lime, lemon or
orange slices. Arrange in pattern in ring mold; add water to cover fruit
and freeze.
you can add vodka to both of these if you like.
