Long-acting benzodiazepines accumulate in the body to a greater extent
than ones with a shorter half-life. Although this might be expected to
increase the frequency of daytime sedation and impairment of
performance (so-called hangover effects) after a hypnotic dose, such a
straightforward relationship has not always been observed in practice.
ELIMINATION HALF-LIFE is 0.83 to 2.25 days (Ochs et al, 1982; Gilman et
al, 1985).
1) Diazepam's half-life increases with age to 79 hours (range 37 to 169
hours) (Salzman et al, 1983; Gilman et al, 1985).
2) In newborn infants, diazepam is more slowly metabolized to
desmethyldiazepam with a prolonged half-life of 22 to 54 hours and
minimally if at all, hydroxylated to oxazepam. Active metabolites
persist for at least 1 to 2 weeks. Hydroxylated metabolites are present
in children and full-term infants over 2 weeks old (Mandelli et al,
1975; Cree et al, 1973a; Morselli et al, 1973).
3) The elimination half-life of diazepam in obese patients was markedly
delayed (95 hours as compared to 40 hours in the controls)(Abernethy et
al, 1981).
4) The half-life of diazepam in patients with end-stage renal disease
is 37 hours versus 92 hours in controls (Ochs et al, 1981a).
So to be exact, it may or may not. Depends on your age, weight, dose
and how long you have been taking it.

Tolerance develops to the sedative effects. Don't confuse the "motor" in
psychomotor with anything having to do with on the bike physiological
performance. They will not have any appreciable detrimental effects on
exercise performance and you will probably perform better because some of
the symptoms for which they have been prescribed for you are likely to
increase your physical well-being.
