Another bloody puncture to repair -- another bloody valve stem.
Fortunately, I found a place under a tree to do the fixerating. I was
in that horrible northerly headwind, and I was thinking "gee, I'm glad
I'm not doing Baw Baw. Wonder how Bleve is doing".

That's not a repair, that's a replace. You seem to be doing a few lately -
have you checked the rim tape and valve hole for any obvious sharp bits?
Otherwise try not putting a retainer nut on the valve, or putting one on
if you currently aren't. Sacrificing a chicken or two should help as well

Rim tape seems fine.

Only two valve stems, but far too many cases of me having to pull the
bloody wheel off and fix things.

With the rubino pros, I've got two glass punctures so far in the back
-- I think in the future I will stay with the stock michalin pros that
came on the bike -- they were rock solid till the very last kms[1]. I
repaired one, and it held for a while, then I got another one (back
wheel again). This time, pumping it up with a lowish pressure hand
pump without a flexible tube thingy, I broke the stem pumping it up (I
was very nearly to the point where I was happy with the pressure - got
it up to 70 psi or so, which was enough to limp along). So new tube
-- but this one had been in the saddle bag for quite some time, so I
always knew it may have perished a little.

Anyway, pumped it up a lot more carefully, and got home on it fine,
when I pumped it up fully. Held for a day, and blew the stem again
while riding along. Presumably perished because it is something that
doesn't fold up neatly, so there's lots of stress at the base.

Got lots of practice taking the darn wheel off now. 🙂

[1] Although the choice of tire affecting the punctures could just be
coincidence in timing. I suspect it is more that I invoked the wrath
of the puncture gods when I was taking their names in vein a few weeks
back.

No punctures after 3000km

I weigh 90kg and sometimes I have two panniers on the OCR2 now, laptop one side and clothes the other. The stock michelin tyres were removed after about 200k because I kept on getting punctures.
