  1. I lost my recipe. This is the kind where the dough is rolled into balls,
then in granulated sugar. When baked, the top is crinkled. No sour cream.

    Anybody have such a recipe?

    TIA

Thanks for posting this Dams. Just when I thought my Christmas cookie
baking was finished too. I'm going to *have* to make these 🙂

They're very good, Patches. When some people think of me, they
automatically think of gingersnaps. LOL! You can make them crisp, or
you can undercook them a bit so they're chewy. Actually, they look
doughy in the center when I remove them from the oven.

Here's Mom's other ginger cookie recipe. The coffee icing referred to
is just regular ol' white frosting, but with cold coffee as the
    liquid.

    Title: SOFT GINGER COOKIES
    Categories: cookies
    Yield: 8 dozen

    1 c. shortening; melted
    2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. molasses
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tbsp. ginger; ground
    1 tbsp. baking soda
    1 c. hot water
    6 c. flour

    1. Mix shortening, sugar, and molasses. Add salt and ginger.
    2. Dissolve soda in hot water.
    3. Mix in some of the soda water, then some of the flour. Continue
    until all has been added.
    4. Bake 15-18 minutes at 350F.
    5. Frost with coffee icing.

This is the recipe I use, too. I've omitted the salt because I can
taste it in there, and cookies just aren't supposed to taste salty.

    Very good recipe!

    Molasses Sugar Cookies

Mmmm, something to use some more of my molasses in (thanks Barb!!). I'm
going to put together a plate of Christmas biccies for my neighbour, so I
think I'll go make some of these now. BTW, house decorated and still in
one piece. Just waiting on photos to send you.
